This Privacy Policy describes how Meowgical Tarot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with care.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Name or Nickname: You may optionally provide a name during onboarding for a personalized experience. This is stored locally on your device.
  • Questions for Readings: Questions you type for tarot spreads are sent to our servers for interpretation and are not stored after the reading is generated.

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: We may collect basic device information (device type, operating system version) for app compatibility and crash reporting.
  • Usage Data: Anonymous usage statistics such as number of readings performed, spread types used, and app session duration may be collected to improve the App.

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, or physical address.
  • We do not collect location data.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate personalized tarot card interpretations using AI
  • Save your reading history locally on your device
  • Improve app performance and user experience
  • Fix bugs and ensure app stability

3. Data Storage and Security

Your reading history, preferences, and personal settings are stored locally on your device using Apple's native data storage frameworks. We do not maintain a user database or store personal data on our servers.

When you request a tarot interpretation, your card selection and question are sent to our secure API (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) for processing. This data is processed in real-time and is not retained after the interpretation is delivered.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI API: To generate tarot card interpretations. Card data and questions are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling practices.
  • Cloudflare Workers: Our API backend runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Requests are processed and not stored. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and never shared with us.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it:

  • Delete your data: You can delete the App at any time, which removes all locally stored data including reading history and preferences.
  • Reset preferences: You can reset your settings within the App at any time.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
